Celebrating World Peace Day at Little Feet Nursery

    September 23, 2025
    World Peace Day

World Peace Day holds special significance for children in the early years as they learn to appreciate the value of friendship, kindness and co-operation. We at Little Feet Nursery, one of the best nurseries in Sharjah We believe that educating children about peace and compassion begins early. On this International Day of Peace our preschool children came together for an unforgettable day full of engaging activities that helped our kids discover the meaning of peace in their daily lives.

The celebration was not just about marking a date on a calendar, it was about sowing seeds of compassion and understanding which will be nurtured by our children for the rest of their lives. As the leading nursery in Sharjah We’re committed to providing experiences that help shape compassionate, thoughtful people.

Creative Expression Through Peace-Themed Arts and Crafts

The youngest of our artists started the World Peace Day with beautiful peace-themed art. The children painted vibrant doves using their hands, turning plain white paper into images of peace and hope. The art area was buzzing with excitement as tiny hands meticulously dipped paintbrushes in soft shades of soft blues and greens along with warm and yellows.

We also made friendship bracelets with beads. Each child made one to themselves and another for one of their classmates. This easy activity taught them about the pleasure of giving as well as the bonds we create by small actions of compassion. The smiles on their faces when the bracelets were exchanged was beautiful.

Peace signs made of paper plates became an additional favorite activity. Children embellished them with drawings, stickers and messages on what makes them feel content and secure. These vibrant creations are now a bright spot, and serve as a daily reminder of our special day.

    Stories That Inspire Understanding

Storytelling was a major part during the World Peace Day activities. Our teachers read books on sharing, friendship with others, and peacefully settling disputes. Our children gathered in our comfortable reading area, listening attentively to stories of characters who chose compassion over anger, and collaboration over rivalry.

Following each story, we had informal discussions in which children discussed their personal experiences of being friends as well as helping others and resolving problems without fighting. These discussions revealed the inherent wisdom that children have about fairness, and how they treat each other.

One of the most popular activities was the “Peace Pledge” circle, in which each child shared ways they could promote peace in their school, at home, in their classroom, or within their local community. The responses varied in length from “sharing my toys” to “giving hugs when someone is sad” , easy but powerful commitments to making the world a little brighter.

    Building Cooperation Through Outdoor Activities

The World Peace Day celebration in the park was centered on activities and games which required teamwork, not competition. Kids took part in a friendship parade, walking together around the playground, while singing songs of the importance of unity and compassion.

We played cooperative games in which the outcome was dependent on teamwork. The parachute game was an amazing illustration of peace, as the kids had to coordinate their actions to keep their colorful balls throughout the air. Their cheers and laughter filled the air as they realized the fun things can be when everyone is involved.

The planting of our peace garden let children group up as small teams, planting seeds to symbolize the growth of patience, perseverance and caring for the environment. The tiny plants will serve as live memories of the World Peace Day celebration as they continue to grow throughout the school year.

Why Teaching Peace Matters from an Early Age

We at Little Feet Nursery which is regarded for being one of the best preschool in Sharjah We understand the fact that kids are compassionate and fascinated by what is happening around them. World Peace Day provides a perfect opportunity to develop these characteristics while teaching notions of citizenship and responsibilities.

Children learn best through interaction and emotions. When they collaborate on art as they share stories, create art, or play games with others they learn regarding respect, empathy and peacefully solving problems. These early experiences influence how they interact with other people throughout their lives.

Research has shown that children who master how to resolve conflicts and develop empathy early on are better prepared to deal with challenges as they get older. Peace-focused activities for children help them improve their emotional intelligence, social skills and a sense of belonging to their communities as well as the larger world.

Continuing the Peace Journey Beyond Today

The World Peace Day celebration at Little Feet Nursery was more than just a single day event. It began a series of discussions on respect, kindness, and awareness of the world. Peace symbols that our children designed will remain in place throughout the year, providing daily reminders about the beliefs we all share.

We encourage families living within the Sharjah community to keep these important conversations going at home. Simple things like reading books on different cultures, focusing on gratitude, and helping others with kindness to reinforce the lessons on peace that we teach our children at our nursery.

While we anticipate the future celebrations and opportunities to learn, we are dedicated to providing opportunities that support not just academic development, but the growth of compassionate, global-minded citizens. Come join with us in Little Feet Nursery in Sharjah, where every day, we provide opportunities to grow, learn and promote peace in our community.
